Making Porridge, Footprints And Colours

Caterpillars have been exploring oats and making porridge for Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They’ve had fun pretending to feed the bears with spoons and are beginning to represent their own experiences in their play.
The Bear Hunt display has been finished in Ladybirds. They made muddy footprints, hand print trees for the forest and had a go at cutting the snowflakes.
Bumble Bees used their new parachute in the school hall. They ran fast to see the colours spiralling together, “my favourite colour is blue”. They lifted it up high, “it looks like a big balloon”, and ran underneath!

Bears Everywhere!

We have a bit of a ‘Bear’ theme going on in Nursery this week. Caterpillars have been
singing ‘Round and Round the Garden, Like a Teddy Bear’, lots of giggling and anticipation
of tickling too!
Ladybirds have been reading ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ and have an
exciting tuff tray to explore, “dat’s de snow, it really cold”, “the bear’s in the mud, squelch
squelch”.

Peace at Last is the book in Bumble Bees and we’ve started to make some of the
props and act out the story, “I’m daddy bear and I can’t stand this”, “my fridge hums in the
kitchen”.
Bumble Bees made paw prints in the play dough and we’ve now got a big tent in the garden, “it looks like a bear cave”….watch this space?!

Happy New Year!

Nursery welcomes 7 new children this term – 2 Caterpillars, 4 Ladybirds and a Bumble Bee! The children have settled back into their Nursery routines really well.

Caterpillars have been exploring paints and Ladybirds have been enjoying their new home corner.
